This Privacy Policy explains how [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], LLC d/b/a PennyGuide (“PennyGuide,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit pennyguide.org (the “Site”) or join our optional text message program, PennyGuide Updates.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you use our sign-up or contact forms, we collect what you enter — such as your first and last name, email address, mobile phone number, message, and your text-message consent choices.
- Consent records. When you opt in to text messages, we record which program(s) you selected (informational/account, marketing, or both), the date and time, the page URL, the consent language version, your browser’s user agent, and the referring page. We keep this record to document your consent.
- Automatically collected information. Like most websites, our hosting provider may log basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and performance.
- Information we do not collect. Numbers you enter into our calculators and checklist stay in your browser. The Bill Savings Checklist is saved only in your own browser’s local storage and is never sent to us.
How we use information
- To send the text messages you requested, in the program(s) you chose, and to honor HELP and STOP requests.
- To respond to messages you send us.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site.
- To comply with law and keep records of consent.
Mobile information and text messaging
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except with the service providers that help us deliver messages (such as our SMS platform and wireless carriers), who may use it only to provide that service. We do not sell, rent, or trade your phone number.

How we share information
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the Site and our messaging program (for example, our web host, form-processing service, and SMS provider), under obligations to protect it; when required by law or to protect rights and safety; or in connection with a business transfer, subject to this Policy. We do not sell personal information.
Cookies and analytics
The Site does not use advertising cookies. Our tools may use your browser’s local storage only to remember your own checklist on your own device. You can clear it at any time from the tool or your browser settings.
Links to other websites
Our guides link to government agencies, nonprofits, and other sites. Their privacy practices are their own; please review their policies.
Data retention and security
We keep consent records and contact information for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it. We use reasonable safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and you may opt out of text messages at any time. Depending on where you live (for example, California and other states with privacy laws), you may have additional rights. Email support@pennyguide.org to make a request; we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Children
The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and our text program is for people 18 and older.
Changes
We may update this Policy and will change the “Last updated” date above. Material changes to how we use mobile information will not apply to you without your consent.
